Identifying Your Ideal Client

Hey, Brian Freeman with Buildit Media. Hey, today I wanted to talk to you about one of the first things that we like to do with brand new clients that we’ve started to work with. So, one if the most important things that we can do right on the very front end, before we even talk about what kind of marketing plan that we can put in place to help your company grow. So, we gotta get super, super clear on who your ideal customer is. So, who is the person that you would really, really want to work for all the time? 

So, one way we can do that is go back and take a look at who some of your, just your most pleasant experiences were as far as the people that you worked for. And also, look at what the most profitable projects or profitable services that you had offered. Who are they for and what were you doing? So, once we establish that we can kind of go back and look, and a lot of times you’ll see that it’s about 20% of your customers are really giving you about 80% of the profit in you business. So, if we can tailor a marketing plan that is very strategic to target those customers we’re going to get way more of those ideal clients and we’re going to have a lot more profit in our company. 

So, the very first step is identifying that perfect customer that we want to go after and then we can craft the actual marketing plan to match that. So, the next thing we do is we actually go after and we clarify the message for that customer and we’ll cover that in another video. But, for right now get very, very clear on who your customer is that you want to work for and then we take that next step.
