Adding Social Profiles to Your Google Business Profile

Google Business Profile Update

Hey everybody! Today, we’re excited to demonstrate a new feature added to your Google Business profile: adding your social links. We’ll guide you through this process and then show you how to effectively post on your Google business profile and link it back to your website to boost search result visibility. Let’s dive in.

First, let me share my screen. If you’re tuning in via podcast, head to our YouTube channel for a visual walkthrough. We’re currently looking at our business, Freeman’s Construction Inc. in Ramona, California.

Notice our Google business profile on the right side of the screen. As you scroll down, you’ll see our Google reviews and the posts we publish weekly.

Adding Social Profiles

Look at these new additions: Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn are now seamlessly integrated into our Google Business profile. Previously, you could manually add these, but the search engine has made it incredibly user-friendly to include them directly.

Let’s compare it with a business that hasn’t utilized this feature. Below their reviews, you’ll notice an absence of posts and social links. Despite having 46 Google reviews, their lack of social presence is noticeable. This highlights the importance of including social links in your Google Business profile.

It’s crucial to understand the impact of these links. Often, clients contact us after engaging with our YouTube video content, establishing trust. Leading with YouTube and integrating other platforms like Facebook ensures potential clients can easily find and view our content before reaching out.

How to Add Social Links

Now, let’s look at how to add these social links. First, search for your business or access it through your account. Once in the Google My Business section, choose to edit your profile.

Scroll down to the ‘Social Profiles’ section under the contact tab. Add or remove platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn here. Currently, Google supports these along with Twitter, Pinterest, and TikTok, which we don’t use but are available for addition.

Next, let’s delve into how we utilize Google posts linked to our blog. We update these weekly, significantly enhancing our search presence. For instance, our ‘flush to find a septic tank’ post links directly back to the relevant blog article on our website. This includes a YouTube thumbnail image and a brief copy leading to the full blog post.

We create a robust online presence by embedding keywords in the URL and using internal and external links in the blog. This strategy showcases our videos and drives traffic directly to our website.

If you search for “custom home builder in Ramona, California”, you’ll notice our strong online presence. Our videos and website pages prominently show up in search results, demonstrating the effectiveness of our approach.

In Summary

Integrating social profiles into your Google Business profile and consistently posting content linked to your website can significantly enhance your online business visibility. Thanks for tuning in, and we look forward to connecting with you soon.
